Ladbroke
Article Abstract:
Ladbroke was affected by high debt levels and the impact of diversifying too far during the early 1990s, but has since tackled its problems. The company has focused on hotels, betting and gaming, and sold its commercial real estate. Hilton Hotels Corp and Hilton International have agreed to use common advertising and develop a joint booking system, and this has boosted Ladbroke's value. The company's profit is forecast at 220 million pounds sterling for 1997 with a rise to 260 million for 1998.
