Joe Dyer, executive vice president at iRobot Corp. and general manager of its Government & Industrial Robotics Division, describes that the digital architecture is the key to spiral development and also cites few key differences between an old F-4 fighter aircraft and a current F-18 jet.

United Defense offers vehicle enhancements

Article Abstract:

United Defense Industries Inc. that came up with new technologies and new systems targeted to protect ground vehicles and the soldiers who crew them in response to observing the kinds of injuries that U.S. forces sustained in Iraq. An Eagle Vision system was developed by the company to provide increased situational awareness to each member of a crew of a Bradley or other such vehicle.

The imbalanced ecosystem of the aerospace and defense (A&D) industry needs to recast it to return to health as reported by the executives of IBM. A conflict between the historical pursuit of industry dominance and the economic necessity has led to a steady decrease in the effectiveness of the traditional business models, which is jeopardizing the health of the A&D ecosystem.
