Effective communication via listening styles

Article Abstract:

Effective business communication involves an understanding of individual communication and listening styles. Communication and listening styles are divided into results-style listeners, process-style listeners, and reasons-style listeners. Results-style listeners are concerned with action and are characterized by action-orientated, direct communication, while process-style listeners are concerned with how things are going to work and are characterized by people-orientated, indirect communication. Reasons-style listeners are concerned with how decisions are made and are characterized by a practical-orientated, argumentative communication.

Planning weekend getaways

Article Abstract:

Company-sponsored weekend getaways can increase productivity, morale, and camaraderie among employees. To be effective, however, weekend vacations should include, travel, adventure, excitement, exercise and camaraderie. The weekend calls for planning for lodging, transportation, activities, and meals, and tour companies can often provide fast and inexpensive ways to make the necessary arrangements. Weekend vacations should be carefully publicized and promoted by conducting presentations, mailing notices, and posting flyers.
