The valuation properties of earnings and book value prepared under US GAAP in Chile and IAS in Peru
Article Abstract:
A study comparing the effectiveness of international accounting standards (IAS) and US generally acceptable accounting principles (GAAP) for valuing properties and contracts is presented. For the purpose IAS is applied to businesses in Peru, and GAAP is applied to companies in Chile. The study proves that US GAAP is more effective in predicting earnings or loss.
