Craft American

Article Abstract:

The Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in New York has launched the second installment of its triennial survey of American design. The show, called "Inside Design Now," features fewer high-tech and electronic objects than the first installment and moves instead toward a more eclectic, handworked collection. An interview with organizers Donald Albrecht, Ellen Lupton and Susan Yelavich discusses the background of the show and the decision-making process regarding what was included.
