Database marketing cuts costs of 'blitzkrieg' approach
Article Abstract:
Database marketing is being predicted to replace traditional marketing strategies in the 1990s. This type of marketing involves storing pertinent information to determine potential customers and their needs. Standard information gathered includes the name of possible corporate customers, the number of its employees and sales volume. Although it is more practical to use a database in business-to-business marketing than in customer marketing, it is more widely used among customer marketers. The rising popularity of database marketing is attributed to the decreasing cost of computing and storing data.

Web sales opportunities, dangers abound
Article Abstract:
Many companies have realized that placing themselves in Internet's World Wide Web is a good marketing strategy. However, the chances that web users will actually know about new companies or products advertised in the network are slim. To increase awareness about web users, Internet marketing consultants encourage companies to place themselves in 'what's new' directories. They also urge new entrants to participate in cyberspace events such as Digital Internet Business Group's special events showcase.

Database marketing cuts costs of 'blitzkrieg' approach
Article Abstract:
Database marketing may totally replace 'blitzkrieg' and direct marketing in the 1990's as computing and data storage costs continue to drop. By using stored standard information, database marketing allows businesses to determine costumer demands more accurately and develop personalized direct-mail packages. However, the implementation of such programs also entails commitment from businesses since databases require long periods of data collection before becoming fully operational.
