Desktop inkjet printers generate retail sales opportunities

The Sawgrass Co. of Mount Pleasant, SC, is the manufacturer of sublimation inks under the SubliJet brand. These products are employed by the Epson desktop inkjet printers with 1,440 dpi and 720 dpi speed. Lu Mark's Mark Gauthier of Quebec created the Photo-Painting Process. This technology produces digital-based oil paintings dependent on photographs which have low prices. Digital printers that print directly on photographic paper are becoming more common as companies introduce more digital printing models. Cymbolic Science Inc. makes the LightJet 5030 printer that uses laser light sources. The LightJet 5030 prints at a resolution of 305 points per inch (ppi) and 406 ppi on paper of up to 32-by-50 inches. Eastman Kodak Co. makes the Kodak Light Emitting Diode (LED) Digital Color Printer that makes prints as large as 20-by-33 inches and uses a LED light source. It is available as the 20 P, which has a built-in RA-4 processor, and as the 20 R, which does not have the RA-4 processor. Sienna Imaging Inc. makes the FotoPrint HSP Printer, a cathode ray tube (CRT) digital printer that uses Sienna's patented Fiber Optic Imaging/CRT technology.
