Citicorp has undergone a recovery which reflects the efforts of John Reed, the bank's chief executive. The bank has increased its dividend and started to buy back shares. Citicorp ranks among the largest banks world wide with over 1,200 retail branches. The bank has again moved into emerging markets although this activity caused problems during the 1980s. Overseas business is becoming increasingly important as a proportion of returns for 1st qtr 1996.
