Difficult MPC tests

The establishment of the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) is seen as a major success, which has consistently hit its inflation target, while the UK economy has sustained steady growth and high employment. It is suggested that in spite of the MPC's success, its performance and basic remit should be re-examined.

The history and the origin of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) when Queen Victoria was on the throne and William Gladstone was the prime minister is illustrated. It is stated that ICAEW was established in 1880 for regulating the accountancy profession.
