A.T. Welford - a commemorative review
Article Abstract:
Research contributions of A.T. Welford, an experimental psychologist, to the fields of psychology and ergonomics are discussed. Welford had done extensive research on the continuous ageing process, age-related skills, psychological refractory period, short-term retention, and social behaviour. Welford's work on ergonomics lacks adequate representation of the field as his publications lack focus on physiology, anatomy and analysis or allocation of function. Welford's approach to research is free and speculative in nature.
