Chartered accountants can provide enhanced value to the entrepreneur selling his or her business by demonstrating financial expertise, prioritizing options and developing exit strategies. The client gains equity value because the accountant is a trusted advisor with an action plan to benefit the entrepreneur. The value enhancement process should only last up to two weeks with meetings lasting less than two days.

Article Abstract:

A company's earnings are reported as earnings per share (EPS), or, the total earnings belonging to a single share of common stock. This most common figure in an annual report, however, is very difficult to calculate. Accounting for convertible debt and preferred shares must be taken account in the EPS calculation.
