Chartered Accountant Todd King works as tax manager in Deloitte & Touche Halifax Office and as third baseman for Canada's national fastball team. Upon gaining full support from his company, King decided to join the national team, where he managed to contribute to the numerous victories, including the gold at the 1999 Pan-Am Games in Winnepeg. King describes himself as someone with a strong desire for competitiveness, whether in sports or in accounting.

Joanne Bozek, a chartered accountant at Cominco's Polaris zinc and lead mine, works 12-hour days in the High Artic. Bozek works for six days a week at the mine, which is situated about 80 kilometers south of the magnetic pole. She has a residence in Yellowknife, Canada but stays in a unit in the work site with a pool, a gym and a movie theater. Bozek regrets that she has to search for another job when the mine shuts down presumably by 2001.

A personal leadership training program can be useful to accountants. Since personal leadership pertains to achieving the goals one has set for himself, leadership skills training will enable one to accomplish the objectives that one has set in terms of career and other aspects of life, be it social, spiritual, financial, mental or family. As accountants, leadership skills can be primarily employed by acting as consultant to clients.
