Article Abstract:

A glimpse at the economic environment in India is presented. The country is in good books of foreign investors for 2006. There is a realization that this country has more to offer than software, and research and development skills. Many infrastructure projects are under way in the country, increasing demand for investments in steel, copper, zinc and aluminum. India's real estate industry is also witnessing a boom, so is its housing sector.
