Fujio Mitarai receives PMA Hall of Fame Award

Fujtio Mitarai, CEO of Canon Inc, is the recipient of the Hall of Fame Award for 2001 from the Photo Marketing Assn International. Mitarai joined Canon in 1961, rising to various executive positions, until he was appointed executive vice-president of Canon USA in 1977. He was appointed president of Canon USA in 1977 and named to the board of directors of Canon Inc in 1981. He was designated president of Canon Inc in 1995, and CEO in 1997.

Kigamo GmbH of Dortmind, Germany, has introduced the $12,995 Scanback 6000+ and $22,995 Scanback 8000+ digital scanning backs for 4-by-5-inch studio view cameras that operate tethered to a computer workstation. The Sanback 6000+ has a 6,000-by-12,732 pixel resolution with a file size of 327 MB in 24-bit RGB. while the Scanback 8000+ has 8,000-by-16,980 pixel resolution with a 583 MB file in a 24-bit RGB.
