The value of media advertising and publicity is different for each situation. It is more advantageous to use publicity because it provides flexibility and credibility. It is more advantageous to utilize media advertising because it provides timing control, message control, cost control and impact. Those issues that are of more importance will determine the selection of media advertising or publicity.

SynOptics uses pizza to stress flexibility

SynOptics' new print advertisement promoting its Ethernet hub is cited for its concept. The Dahlin Smith White, Salt Lake City, UT-based firm's advertisement uses the pizza-by-the-slice principle to showcase its new network computing product. SynOptics offers the Lattis Link hub which can accommodate up to 10 users while others can be served by the LattisSwitch System 3000.
