General sees 'long, hard slog' ahead in building Iraq security force

U.S. General, David Petraeus, in charge of training and equipping Iraqi military is happy regarding the fielding of Iraqi units, but warns that the equipment is not flowing fast enough. The Iraqi security force needs flak vests, vehicles, heavy machine guns, uniforms, and equipment so that the Iraqi forces do not outgun them.

GAO hits DOE for lagging nuclear weapons detection systems
Article Abstract:
The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has reported that the Department of Energy (DOE) is taking very slow steps in purchasing and installing the nuclear detection systems in the overseas ports. The governments of the countries where the ports are situated could be responsible for the delay in the program.
