The company has since seen a drop in its share price as the popularity of Internet-related stocks has waned. The company relies on marketing services for its income, and has also launched an Internet directory called GOD, which will contribute income from advertising, and should help boost the company's profits strongly from 1997

Holmes and Marchant: clawing back

Holmes and Marchant (HM) is a marketing services group which has reduced its debt to 8.4 million pounds sterling from 13 million pounds in 1991. The company plans to sell two properties before Mar 1998 and raise some 3 million pounds sterling from this sale. The company has a 4.8% stake held by NatWest, taken in exchange for interest payments due. The company's sales are rising by some 2.8% and costs are controlled, so HM's prospects are improving.
