Graphics
Article Abstract:
The designs in Graphics category fail to indicate future stylistic directions and represent the pains the profession is experiencing in the late 1990s. In an age of Internet and CD-ROMs, print designers are trying to reproduce the pace and impact of audio-visuals in print. Products in the competition ranged from books, annual reports to art and fashion designing. Designs were judged on the basis of traditional analysis of ideas and execution, shock value, nutritional content and arbitrary criteria of humor. The Best of Category award went to a book of trivia, philosophy and architecture.
