Hagee: Marines need STOVL JSF

Article Abstract:

The commandant of the Marine Corps has stated that the Marines will be requiring the short-takeoff-and-vertical-landing (STOVL) capability of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF). Gen. Michael Hagee has also stated that the JSF offers the needed stealth and it is no surprise that the top US Department of Defense officials are assessing the JSF program as part of the ongoing 2005 Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR).

Hagee says Osprey is Marines' first aviation priority

Article Abstract:

General Michael Hagee stated that the MV-22 Osprey tilt-rotor aircraft is the top MarineCorps aviation priority. Osprey hybrid aircraft provides increased range, speed, payload, and survivability compared to conventional helicopters, intending that V-22 would generate transformational tactical and operational capabilities.

Former marine chief says C-130Js are needed technology

Article Abstract:

Gen. James Jones, former commandant of the Marine Corps. stated that the embattled C-130J Super Hercules program was a much-needed program technology when he served as commandant of the Marine Corps. According to him, C-130J has made several stops in Europe to demonstrate its capabilities.
