Hartstone: it's in the bag
Article Abstract:
Hartstone has announced a preference share offer which will raise funds to pay off a bridging loan of 10 million pounds sterling. The company has paid 16 million pounds sterling in bank and advisory fees in the three years tto Sep 1996, and repayment of the bridging loans will save interest payments. Existing shareholders are effectively granted an option to subscribe to Hartstone's new shares with a cost of 0.1 pound sterling per share. This seems to be a good offer, though its attractiveness also depends on the company's share price performance.

Article Abstract:
Shani is a UK clothing manufacturer which produces coats and separates such as trousers and skirts. The company's cotas sales were affected by mid weather, but an extended range of coats is helping Shani's exports. Shani's directors hold a 72% stake in the company and this could deter some investors. The company's profit is forecast at 3.1 million pounds sterling for 1995 to 1996, and 3.4 million pounds for the following year by Beeson Gregory.
