Several factors induced Foster Parents Plan of Canada (FPP) national director Carol Wilding to leave her position as audit manager to serve in a non-profit organization. She was carrying her first child and wanted to change her lifestyle in preparation for the duties of motherhood. She was also feeling disappointed with her auditing job. Carol handled several international programs including the restructuring of FPP's worldwide financial systems.

Bringing the economy to higher ground

Canadian Liberal Minister of Parliament Paul Szabo has submitted bills to enable the taxation of the underground economy. He has proposed income tax credits for home renovations and improvements to induce citizens to purchase these services from reputable stores. He has also suggested a limited amnesty on interest and penalties for unpaid taxes to encourage businessmen engaged in underground enterprises to pay their taxes again.
