ICICI makes mark as first Indian company to list on NYSE

Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) became the first Indian company to list on the New York Stock Exchange on September 20, 1999. The stock was highly successful displaying investor faith in the Indian economy, as well as faith in ICICI's almost complete transformation into a universal bank.
