Article Abstract:

The scope of members' expertise across all economic sectors is recognized as a real strength of the accountancy profession and, for a large membership like the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW), it also has practical implications for how it recognizes and prioritizes the issues that matter to different member groups. The institute is in the process of establishing five new advisory boards that would look out for issues of strategic and practical concern to members and influence institute activities and services accordingly.
