Internet watchdogs show their teeth
Article Abstract:
The United Kingdom Financial Services Authority (FSA), the new name for the Securities and Investment Board, looks likely to shut down a web site on the grounds that it seems to be an investment advertisement. The site is run by Chris Jones who claims he does not give advice. If his comments on investment trust warrants are used as a basis for investment decisions, he could benefit as increased demand pushes up the value of his investment. The FSA has not provided advice on how his site could operate legally.
