Singing for their supper

Article Abstract:

Investment trusts offer investors low costs, though the percentage charged has tended to rise and this is especially noticeable in roll overs. Fees for investment trusts still tend to be lower than those of unit trusts, though this is not the case for index tracking unit trusts. Performance-related fees have been suggested and have been introduced by some investment trusts. Critics argue that they tend to be used to push up fees as a whole. It is not not easy to select appropriate benchmarks.
