The bull market has continued as a result of the impact of the actions of the Federal Reserve head, Alan Greenspan. Technical and fundamental analysis can be used to assess entry levels for buying stocks, and combining both is safer under volatile conditions. There is no problem locating growth stocks among US companies, but valuations are also high. United Kingdom stocks are affected by trends in Wall Street, but stocks in mainland Europe may become more independent.

Article Abstract:

Optimists hope for strong stock prices to the US presidential election of 2000, and do not see the Federal Reserve as likely to raise interest rates in the year of the election. Labor costs look set to rise, but this has not been apparent in statistics, and inflation appears benign. Meanwhile, the New York stock market is attracting investors in a buying panic and stocks have reached new high levels, while the US dollar is strong in relation to the euro.
