The courts seem to be adopting a more pragmatic approach in dealing with professional advisors who go against the rule that does not allow them to act for a new client where the interests of existing client might conflict with that of the new client. The case of GUS Consulting v LeBoeuf Lomb Green & Macrae that marks a step forward in the evolution towards a more pragmatic, case-by-case technique to deal with the matter is presented as a proof.

Corporate survival in a volatile world
Article Abstract:
The reasons behind some companies faring better then others at surviving events like the London bombings are discussed. The analysis of the UK-listed companies compared with listed stocks between 1995 and 2005 shows that the most value-creating resilient UK companies focus on long-term risk management strategies, which build material for their stakeholders, brand, reputation, unique organizational practices, and strategies.
