Lloyds TSB

Article Abstract:

Lloyds TSB has performed well in terms of its stock price, and has emphasised stockholder value. The bank has benefited from its acquisitions of Cheltenham and Gloucester building society and holds 16.2% of the market for new mortgages. There are also opportunities for cost savings. Banks tend to suffer in recessions, but new technology helps identify poor credit risks so helps control bad debt. Lloyds is a leader in the sector both in terms of profits and market share.
