Maximization of subjective expected utility or risk control? Experimental tests of risk homeostasis theory
Article Abstract:
Two experiments exploring the utility of subjective expected utility (SEU) model and the risk homeostasis theory (RHT) was conducted on 64 psychology undergraduate students, 48 women and 16 men. The first experiment modeled achievement situations and the second measured true risk situations. Results indicate that the RHT model is useful under conditions of true risk and the SEU model is useful under conditions of achievement.

Acceptable workloads for three common mining materials
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to determine maximum acceptable weight limits (MAWL) for materials handled by coal miners. These materials include rock dust bags, ventilation stopping blocks and crib blocks. Results show that physiological stress was greatest when miners were in stooped postures compared with kneeling. The results imply that miners handle materials greater than their psychophysical limits.
