More than an institute of registered auditors
Article Abstract:
Board for Chartered Accountants chair Roger Lawson, head of 3i's international department, believes that the future of chartered accountants lies in the recruitment of commercial and industrial accountants. He also believes consultancy will be very important. Lawson is in favor of allowing practices to become multidisciplinary, and he supports a shift from licensing individuals to licensing firms. Lawson wants to encourage representation of industrial and commercial members on the Board's committees to ensure more recognition for business members.
