Article Abstract:
Raytheon Systems Company, St. Petersburg Operation, St. Petersburg, Fla., is being awarded a $10,711,083 letter contract on a cost-plus-award-fee basis for design, development, manufacture, assembly, test and support of the cooperative engagement capability (CEC)/Patriot test systems, airborne stand-alone cooperative engagement processor, and adaptive layer software/hardware. CEC provides real time integration of fire control quality sensor data into a single composite data source which can be used by multiple CEC ships and airborne units for direct and remote missile engagements. CEC significantly improves battle force anti-air warfare (AAW) capability by coordinating all force AAW sensors into a single real time, fire control quality composite track picture. Work will be performed in St. Petersburg, Fla., and is expected to be completed by February 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was not competitively awarded. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00024-99-C-5106).

Sechan Electronics, Inc., Lititz, Pa., is being awarded a $6,243,115 indefinite-delivery/ indefinite-quantity contract with firm-fixed pricing for the production of submarine very low frequency/low frequency VMEbus radio communications receiver sets and spare parts. This replaces existing equipment in use on submarines and at fixed shore stations. This open architecture, microprocessor-based, multi-channel and multi-mode communication system makes extensive use of commercial-off-the-shelf components and previously developed software. This contract contains four one-year options which, if exercised, will bring the total cumulative value to $66,003,079. Work will be performed in Lititz, Pa., and is expected to be completed in July 1999. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured with 49 proposals solicited and six offers received. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego, Calif., is the contracting activity (N66001-98-D-5002).
