Article Abstract:
Lockheed Martin, Launching Systems, Baltimore, Md., is being awarded a $40,650,593 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-98-C-5363 to provide for fabrication, assembly, test, and ancillary hardware in support of the MK 41 vertical launching system for the government of South Korea under the Foreign Military Sales Program. Lockheed Martin will award a major subcontract to United Defense Limited Partnership, Minneapolis, Minn. Work will be performed in Baltimore, Md. (58%); Aberdeen, S.D. (37%); and Minneapolis, Minn. (5%), and is expected to be completed by July 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.

Hughes Aircraft, Naval and Maritime Systems, Mukilteo, Wash., is being awarded an $8,434,477 modification to previously awarded contract N00024-97-C-6107 to exercise an option for 41 MK 46 Mod 5A(S) torpedoes for the government of Taiwan (100%) under the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program. MK 46 is a lightweight torpedo that can be launched from surface combatant torpedo tubes, ASROC missiles and fixed and rotary wing aircraft for anti-submarine defense. Work will be performed in Seattle, Wash., and is expected to be completed by December 2000. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity.
