Article Abstract:
Comcast UK has been acquired by NTL, which ranks third in the United Kingdom cable TV market. NTL has seen a rise in its stock price which has helped the company to make this acquisition. The two companies together almost reach the strength of TeleWest, which ranks second in the UK market. Telephone groups are finding size increasingly important, and more activity is expected. General Cable and TeleWest are unlikely to stay independently quoted companies for very long.
