Can participatory ergonomics become 'the way we do things in this firm' - the Scandinavian approach to participatory ergonomics

Article Abstract:

The application of participatory ergonomics in Scandinavian firms is studied. Laws have been enacted in Scandinavian countries requiring participatory ergonomics or the participation of employees in creating and maintaining safe working conditions. However, most firms have not complied with these laws prompting governments to introduce formalized management systems for quality control and environment management systems.

The culture at work: cultural ergonomics

Article Abstract:

An ergonomic culture should be introduced in the work-place and a proper system of operation coded for its applications. A lot of research, analysis and training is a prerequisite for the correct development of ergonomic applications.
