Okula to begin making cosmetic flacons

Article Abstract:

Okula (Nyrsko, Czech Republic), spectacle rim and plastic parts manufacturer, will commission a joint venture with Axium (France) in Jul 2001. The joint venture was set up in Apr 2001. It will manufacture special blown plastic packaging. Among other things, the products will be cosmetic flacons and vessels for the food products industry. Sales will be ensured primarily by Axium which is one of France's leading firms in the sector. In the first year of its operation the joint venture should make products worth more than CEK 20 mil. Then it should raise its production 50% per year. Okula will go on with the manufacturing of its own products line. In 2000 Okula saw a turnover of about CEK 280 mil and Axium generated a turnover of about CEK 1.05 bil.

The airbag manufacturer Toyoda starts to build

Article Abstract:

Toyoda Gosei (Japan), steering wheel and airbag manufacturer, began building a new CEK 500 mil production hall in Klasterec- nad-Ohri, the Czech Republic, on 06 Apr 2001. CEK 80 mil of the total cost should be used for the construction of the hall and more than CEK 400 mil for new technology, mainly from Japan. The hall will employ nearly 130 persons gradually.
