PAP Susice is renamed to Gio Style
Article Abstract:
PAP Susice (Susice, Czech Republic), manufacturer of plastic packaging for the food products industry, has been renamed to Gio Style PAP (GSPAP) (Susice, Czech Republic). This is connected with the firm's recent inclusion in the division Gio Style, which is owned by Laura G (Italy). GSPAP plans to invest several hundreds of millions of Czech crowns during 2001-2003. The investments will be used for production extension, the implementation of new technology and the growth of the quality of supplies. The construction of the firm's new warehouse will cost more than CEK 50 mil. The company expects its production to double by 2004. It is preparing cooling box production, which will be transferred to GSPAP from the plants of the parent firm in Italy. GSPAP's proceeds should be about CEK 60-70 mil after the production transfer. PAP saw proceeds of CEK 440 mil in 2000, CEK 30 mil more compared to 1999. The firm saw a net profit of CEK 7 mil in 2000 compared to a loss of CEK 2 mil in 1999.

The population decreased in 2000
Article Abstract:
Czech Republic: The local population decreased by 11,552 in 2000 compared to 1999. As of 31 Dec 2000, the population was 10,266,546. The number of deceased persons was 18,000 higher than the number of new borns in 2000. The highest annual decrease in the number of inhabitants was seen in 1996. The number of Czech inhabitants decreased by 12,207 during the 12 months of 1996.
