Farmers Group Inc, a unit of Zurich Financial Services, is facing a $100- million criminal negligence lawsuit from PR executive Melinda Ballard. Ballard claims that the insurer knew about the existence of a deadly mold called Stachybotrys in the property she bought outside Austin, TX, but failed to inform her family about it. The toxin has caused memory loss in her husband Ron Allison and scarred lungs in their three-year-old son Reese.
