PR pro beats B&D in 'stealing employee' case

Article Abstract:

A jury ruled in favor of PR counselor Phyllis Brotman who filed a breach of non-solicitation agreement against a firm and a former employee. Brotman accused both Black and Decker (B and D) and David P Olsen for breaking a non-solicitation agreement signed by Olsen before leaving Brotman's employ. Brotman, owner of Image Dynamics which later merged with Gray, Kirk/VavnSant, claimed that B and D cut their relationship to hire Olsen and, therefore, save money. Judge Thomas E Noel of the Baltimore Circuit Court ordered B and D and Olsen to pay Brotman $645,000 and $295,000, respectively.
