Profiles of managerial activities in small firms
Article Abstract:
Profiles of managerial activities in small firms are developed. Chief executives and other executives are asked to provide data on planning, organizing and controlling activities, entrepreneurial orientation, and environmental turbulence. Four profiles are created. Firms in Profile I have a highly centralized, short-term decision-making and are least active in gathering and evaluating external or internal information. Firms in Profile II treasure actively gather external and internal information although their lack of focus on analysis and consensus-seeking indicates short-term, impulsive decision-making. Decision-making is also centralized. Firms in Profile III are highly specialized and decentralized. There is long-term planning although there is minimal external information gathering. Firms in Profile IV actively collect and analyze internal and external information, and use long-term planning.

Did regulatory actions discourage consumer demand for Treasury bills?
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the relation between Treasury bill demand and regulatory actions is presented. The analysis focuses on periods when vital regulatory changes are made to discourage consumers from demanding them. It is shown that observed structures of public demand for the bills changed. However, the changes which were generated by the regulation did not always follow the intended direction predicted by regulating bodies.
