Public speaking is not as easy as you think

Article Abstract:

Public speaking is not easy. To be effective a speaker should practice voice production (to ensure he can be heard by all attendees), should learn to speak more slowly than in normal conversation, should rehearse the speech frequently prior to delivery (and at full volume) and should speak often (to minimize nervousness in the future). Other tips offered to public speakers include: adhering to time constraints, pitching the voice slightly higher when speaking publicly, and refusing to speak extemporaneously. Note cards should be used when speaking in front of a group and the use of quotations in speeches should be minimized.
