Pensions with principles

Article Abstract:

An estimated 1% of United Kingdom pension policy holders have ethically screened pensions, but 73% of adults believed that their pension schemes should use ethical criteria in a survey. The environment, animal testing and armaments are three areas of particular concern to those surveyed. The age category of from 35-years-old to 44-years-old was especially concerned about ethical pension polcies. There are 40 screened funds available in the UK for investors seeking ethically screened pensions.

Taking control

Article Abstract:

Per capita state pension provision is set to drop in the United Kingdom, and there is a need for those in work to save for their retirement. Personal pensions are useful for people for whom an employer's pension is not available. A new Stakeholder Pension system is to be launched, but it would be dangerous to wait until this appears, since delays mean that higher contributions have to be made to a pension scheme. A pension scheme should be flexible and allow for transfers without penalties.
