Qualitative recruitment report of the industry Working Party

Article Abstract:

The first report of the industry Working Party on Qualitative Recruitment recommended that the recruitment process be specified on a per-job basis with quota requirements. This meant that focus should be transferred from a quasi-quantitative recruitment to a genuinely qualitative recruitment process. Many of the companies included in the Working Party have already executed the new guidelines and are presently pursuing complete implementation.

Qualitative research amongst ethnic minority communities in Britain

Article Abstract:

Researchers conducting studies among ethnic minority communities can avoid communication problems by understanding and working within the groups' existing patterns of behavior rather than imposing new structures upon them. Although the language barrier remains a problem among non-English speaking minorities in the UK, communicating or conducting research with them can still be made provided their traditional patterns of behavior are observed.

Is the growing popularity of opera in Britain just another nineties media myth? Market research provides the answer

Article Abstract:

Television coverage of popular operatic performances has led to the widening popularity of opera in the UK. However, an audience survey conducted between Feb 1990 and Jun 1992 revealed that while there has been a significant increase in the purchase of opera tapes, the percentage of people who actually watch live performances has not increased. Thus, strategies must be developed to encourage live attendance at opera theaters.
