Over 800 senior US financial executives, who are under the constant pressure of the US standards-setters and regulators, gathered in New York for the 22nd Current Financial Reporting Issues Conference of the Financial Executives International (FEI) that focused on internal control certifications, and on coming to terms with expensing stock options. They were permitted for a number of new Financial Accounting Standards Board and Securities and Exchange Commission projects.

UK builds up Sarbox defences
Article Abstract:
The UK government is planning to introduce laws to ensure that the burdensome US business regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley are not imported into the UK stock markets. The UK economic secretary Ed Balls has assured that the laws would be introduced to ensure that London Stock Exchange continues to benefit from Britain's 'light touch' approach in the event it is taken over.
