Scottish value veers off course

Article Abstract:

Scottish Value Management (SVM) was set up in 1991 by Colin McLean, a fund manager who was previously with Templeton. SVM initially performed well, peaking in 1994. The stock price has underperformed the sector by 20% since this peak. McLean uses the value approach to investing. McLean's Warrants and Value Investment Trust also saw a decline after an initial strong performance, though his Undervalued Assets Trust has performed well since 1994 when it was launched.
