Secon-harmonic imaging microscopy for visualizing biomolecular arrays in cells, tissues and organisms
Article Abstract:
Research shows that Secon-harmonic imaging microscopy is a tool that can be applied for dynamic imaging of biological stucture and function studies as exemplified by proteins. Data indicate that the signals are in transmission configurations and that it is possible to do imaging biomolecules, such as collagen, intact live tissues, and organisms, in a backscattering geometry.

Nonlinear magic: multiphoton microscopy in the biosciences
Article Abstract:
Research shows that multiphoton microscopy can measure calcium transients 500 micro meter deep in brain tissues and blood flow quantification by imaging shadows of blood cells through the capillaries. It can also be used for imaging tissue explants and living animals and combined wih nonlinear optics, it can image collagen fibrils in situ.

Optical coherence tomography for ultrahigh resolution in vivo imaging
Article Abstract:
Research shows that optical coherence tomography functions as an 'optical biopsy' in that it provides cross-sectional images of tissues, in situ and real time, on the micron scale. Data indicate that the image resolution of the technique is between 1-15 micrometer.
