Article Abstract:

Securities researcher Don Levy has helped a number of people recover huge amounts of money from investments which they thought were worthless. Levy started his career in forensic accounting in 1985 in Nepean, Ontario. He says his background in accounting has helped him tremendously to understand the complexities involved in securities research, particularly in the paperwork. His services include determining the value of old stock certificates and registering or selling shares in his client's behalf.

Tales of a fourth-grade something

Article Abstract:

The Saint Louis, MO, accounting firm Coughlin, Donovan, Niehaus and Scherle launched the program 'Be Something in Life That Counts' to foster positive attitudes towards mathematics and accounting among fourth grade students. The program illustrated the importance of mathematics and accounting abilities in daily living. Accountants made the presentations and the children were asked to make simple financial statements using addition, subtraction and multiplication.

A description is presented of the cattle rearing success of Murray Grey cattle breeder Douglas Derry. The suitability of this breed of cattle for Canada's extreme weather conditions and his competitive achievements are discussed.
