Shareholder wealth effects of management changes

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the impact on stockholder wealth of management changes is presented. It is shown that instability which is generated by such organizational changes negatively affects firm performance. In addition, market forces exhibit an influence on corporate board formation. These forces generally define a need for management to be changed because of the impression that shareholder wealth is not fully maximized by retaining executives over long time periods.
