A Turkish contract is favourable mainly for Skoda Energo

Skoda Energo (Plzen, Czech Republic), engineering firm, has become the largest supplier of the construction of a heating and power plant in Yalova, Turkey. The total investment costs on the construction of the combined production plant will be CEK 7 bil. CEK 5.8 bil of the sum will be ensured by Skoda Energo. Production alone represents CEK 3.2 bil. The plant will be built by Skoda Energo together with the engineering firm Istroenergo Group (Slovakia) and Tekfen (Turkey). It should be completed in the summer of 2003. Skoda Energo is a subsidiary of the concern Skoda Holding (Plzen, Czech Republic). The firm saw proceeds of CEK 3.2 bil in 2000. The worth of the firm's received contracts rose by 43% in 2000 compared to 1999. The company saw a profit of CEK 200 mil in 2000. The number of its employees decreased by 25%.

Skoda Energo sells its generator manufacturing to a UK investor

Skoda Energo (SE) (Plzen, Czech Republic), power equipment manufacturer, sold its electrical machines division to FKI (UK) in 1Q 2001. The division, which is focused on turbogenerator and hydrogenerator production, saw proceeds of CEK 685 mil within SE in 2000. FKI will take over all the division's 840 employees, its know-how, sketching and production premises. The price of the transaction was not reported. SE is a part of Skoda Holding (SH) (Plzen, Czech Republic). The sale of SE's electrical machines division corresponds to SH's long-term strategy, whithin which the holding company is offering strategical partners those of its sectors that would not be successful on the global market in the long term.

Skoda Holding Plzen sees a positive result
Article Abstract:
Skoda Holding (Plzen, Czech Republic), engineering firm, saw a net consolidated profit of CEK 65.4 mil under proceeds of CEK 14.9 bil in 2000. In 1999 the company saw a loss of CEK 4 bil before its division into Skoda Holding and the service firm Skoda. The firms of the group Skoda Holding were restructured and considerably increased the volume of awarded contracts in 2000. Skoda Holding was awarded contracts worth CEK 21.6 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 13.7 bil in 1999.
