So what about small business productivity?

Article Abstract:

Small enterprises must be able to adopt efficient crossborder benchmarking techniques, productivity methods and quality measures in order to meet the challenges of the new millenium. These firms must also highlight the need for management and productivity efficiency necessary to acquire marketing edge and long-term success. Although productivity is difficult to assess among small businesses, it is important for them to employ innovative goal setting, planning, organizing and work readiness.

Evolving to the ultimate level of performance through supply chain management

Article Abstract:

A four-tier evolutionary model has been developed in an attempt to help enterprises optimize their performance through effective supply chain management. The proposed process is subdivided into an internal level, which is composed of upper management staff and an external level, which includes team and unit leaders. The first level is tasked with reducing the operating costs of processes while the other is concerned with enhancing reengineering processes.

The use of a strategy-driven performance management system by electric utility Commonwealth Edison is discussed. It is concluded that performance transformation success demands a strong focus on the outcome and strong commitment.
