Space policy for the new US administration
Article Abstract:
The new democratic administration in US plans for a revitalization of the space program since unemployment can be tackled by the commercialization of space, and environmental pollution by the employment of space-based energy sources. The International Space Year of 1992 resulted in the increased global awareness of the peaceful and lucrative potentials of space and demonstrated how global unity in the deployment of space technologies could benefit the human race. The new Clinton administration must organize a White House Conference on Space Enterprise by 1994 to focus public attention on the potentials of S/ace technologies.

Crossroads in space
Article Abstract:
The budgetary and political problems of Russian, European and US space programs are discussed. The continuation of space research has significant economic, scientific, political and military implications for the nations involved. The Russian program is scientifically advanced in materials processing, crystals and metallurgy research. Budgetary problems could result in the selling components of the program to the US and other interested parties. The Russian program could merge with the European Space Agency, thereby offering competition to the NASA.
